Router Table:

A Router Table is very handy around
the shop. I am in the process of
building a new Shaper, but often times
do light work like round-overs and
grooves using this small sized router.

I admit this is not for heavy work, but
since the router table is on heavy duty
slides, it can easily be pulled out from
underneath my bench, be used, then
slid back and out of the way with very
little effort. As you can see this again is
inline with my theory about having a
small but effecient shop.
Dust Collection:

My dust collection sytem has its own
webpages because its design began
long before I poured the slab. In fact
the design of my dust collector
required me to build a sump out of
bricks and motor before the slab was
even poured.

This allowed me to place my dust
collector over this sump. This is
important because when I turn the
dust collector on, saw dust is blown
through the dust collector and into this
sump. A secondary blower discharges
this sawdust outside my shop. This
means I never have to empty my dust
collector bags...a real pain of a job.

As you can see from this picture to the
right, I also have a hatch cover. By
picking this up I can sweep all my floor
shavings right into the sump as well
without having to find and use a dust
pan. This is again very fast and
effecient.
Clamp Rack:

Clamps, they are needed in every
shop, but what a pain to store. Here I
have used a 2 x 6 and some well
placed hooks of various kinds, to hang
my assortment of clamps.

You will also note that since my shop
is not done, and yet is being used, all
my organizers are designed to be self
contained. What I mean is, they are
designed so that they can be taken
down and put up again when I added
the insulation, and again when I add
the interior wallboard.
Self Contained Storage:

As I mentioned before, these are a few
racks I use for storage and all are able
to be removed, and reapplied, to the
walls as needed.

The first is a rack designed for working
on the machines. I have several sets of
wrenches and tools so that I do not
have to say go out in my sled shed for
a tool. Instead everything I should need
is right here.

This rack contains two sets of
standard wrenches, a standard set of
1/4 inch sockets and ratchet (metric
and standard), and one set of metric
wrenches, and one set of 3/8 socets
and rachet (metric and standard).
Finally with a standard screwdriver and
phillips head screwdriver, I can
complete most maintenance and
repair tasks without leaving my shop.

In this picture you can also see my
hammer rack, fastener rack and if you
look close, the cable to pull my planer
up and out of the way when needed.
